g̱anaaw̓ is the traditional Nisga’a translation for Frog. Frogs are creatures of transformation and represent one the 4 main crests in the matrilineal system within the Nisga’a culture. The frog crest is known as the Ganhada clan. When a frog crosses your path, it can also symbolize new beginnings of growth, a time for cleansing and creating new opportunities for yourself.
