my piece titled "Lalt" which translates to Snake in the traditional Nisga’a language
This print is available in 11x14 on Birch paper
The story behind my piece comes from a Gardner snake that came across my path one day during the summer. Unfortunately, someone had run it over. As I approached it, I noticed it was struggling to reach safety in the tall grass. I aided the snake to safety. I was concerned, and later that evening, I returned to find 3 infant snakes cuddling up to the mother snake, trying to keep her warm. This moment was heartbreaking but made me more aware of the environment we share and the impacts we have when we are in our own little world.
