Creatures of the spring Equinox 2025

First Official Solo Exhibition within my art practice! This exhibition was by invitation from the amazing Liquid Amber Tattoo and Art Collective. This exhibition showcased April 2025-June 2025. Details on this event can be found on my Instagram.

Artist Statement:

Caring for all creatures and the environment they are connected to has been the recurring theme I find within my own art practice. For one specific creation story where I was introduced to the 2 figures who travelled to the sky world to meet with the great sky chief, I found understanding for my strong emotional connection to all animals and the environment. In this story, the 2 figures journey through many kingdoms belonging to each animal from the smallest creature to the largest. Each kingdom carried valuable teachings, but within this story it was mentioned that most of these creature’s stories have been lost due the impacts of colonization and intergenerational trauma.

This realization of lost stories belonging to our animal relatives struck me deeply and has been the continued inspiration for creating animal crests for each creature that has come across my path in a significant way. My hopes for this process of returning meaning to these creatures and their importance to this world, is so that we can work together to take better care for these creatures and their environment.
